Sabbath Day - February 20, 2010

On this day, the Sabbath, I have decided to share with you a revelation I have had that the Spirit revealed to me, that otherwise has gone unnoticed until the recent time for me. It may be something you already know or have considered, and there again it could be revealing to you, as well.

What we know about the time of the cross and the days that followed:

We know that Jesus was crucified on Thursday or Friday (most today believe that is was Friday and that is what is taught traditionally, yet the Bible tells us that the Son of Man will lay in the tomb for 3 nights and 3 days, just as Jonah in the Belly of the Whale.) For argument sake here, we will consider only the traditional teaching of Good Friday being the day that Yeshua/Jesus was crucified. Jesus died at the time of passover in the afternoon, sooner than the counterparts at his side. Jesus was laid in the tomb prior to Sunset because mid afternoon is Pass-over time. The ladies who would embalm the body with spices and such did not have the time to do so prior to the Sabbath Day, so the Body was not embalmed with spices, at all. The reality was that Mary of Magdala went to the tomb with another female and they were going to embalm the body, but the Angel was there to greet them to an open empty tomb. Significantly what I want you to see, and what was revealed to me here is that though Yeshua/Jesus was crucified already the reverence to the Sabbath was acknowledged, and the ladies would not do work on the Body of the our Savior on the Sabbath. Yeshua/Jesus stated several times that He did not come to destroy the Law of His Father, but to fulfill it. Now taking that into account, I find it also to be significant, and another thing for those that can "see" I "see" this....Jesus/Yeshua also abided in the Sabbath Day of His Father, as He lay in the tomb the entire Sabbath. It would have been work to have risen from the Dead on the Sabbath, and our Savior rested the Sabbath, bearing our sins. It is in that knowledge, that I must always revere the Sabbath Day, because my Savior was the demonstration marker of my Salvation, and even He reveres His Father's Commandments. Amen.
