REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY

We know from the Word of God, that there are 10 Commandments that were received by Moses, given for God's people to abide by and live their lives by obeying them.

The 10 Commandments are:

Exodus 20:1-17 (King James Version)

Exodus 20

1And God spake all these words, saying,

2I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

7Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

8Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

13Thou shalt not kill.

14Thou shalt not commit adultery.

15Thou shalt not steal.

16Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

17Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

10 Times within the 10 commandments, God words things for Moses to deliver to the people as strict commands of what we are NOT to do. Ultimately, these are the ones that we choose to notice most as we read them.

One that draws my eye away from those, with a great amount of attention, is the promise within the commandments, that by doing this Commandment your days will be long in the land. Of course, when you think about this, Honoring one's parents is a difficult thing at times, but the promise of long days, seems to be an unusual one and a wonderful one.

The one, which draws me in the most, is the one that God tells us to REMEMBER and the one that seems to evade the majority of people. I don't know many people who choose in their daily lives to actually keep this commandment. Why is this, and why in the world would the world blatantly disrespect and disregard something that God said in His most vital laws for us, that we REMEMBER.

What exactly is the Sabbath day? In many cultures, the Sabbath day refers to a specified day of the week. Sabbath means Saturday to many tongues. The Jewish Sabbath, which abides by the thought process of "and the evening and the morning was the first day" mindset, starts at Sundown/Sunset on Friday, and it ends on Sunset on Saturday. The day of the Sabbath, is to be a day of rest and enjoyment. It is to be day that we rest from work, that we do not buy, sell or trade upon, that we do no work during, and that we gain nothing worldly from. It is to be day that we honor because the Lord made it sacred. What a simple thing to do, yet it seems that people just fail to realize. Honestly, I believe part of the actual problem was the institution of church on Sunday in our nation in the late 1800s. It was a US governmental and Roman Catholic Church decision to stop Saturday Sabbath day worship and to change the day of "the Lord" to Sunday here in the US, and I have read the actual language. I could hardly believe how easily everyone agreed, except for the knowledge that if you question the character, decisions or actual teaching of the Catholic Diocese, you embark on Excommunication from the RCC and thereby have no one, in their belief to stand in your stead to reduce your time in pergetory. I understand why so many people don't stand up for the right way within that entity, though I am sure many more believe there are problems than they actually let on for their fear of time in pergetory or excommunication or whatever their actual real or unreal fear is.

Jesus Christ/Yeshua, is the one true Savior of the world, and through Faith in him is the only true way to Heaven, the only true way to be redeemed of your sins, and the only true way to know for sure you have a grasp on things to come. He will reveal all to you, all you need do is ask and believe.

Since 1890, nothing has changed in the Sunday worship services, and we have all at some point or another been led by our hands or our heads to attend Sunday Services. Sunday is not the Sabbath, revered day of the 10 commandments. Sunday is not the Lord's Day. Sunday is the Day Yeshua/Jesus rose from the Grave, but He did not authorize lack of adherence to God's commandments. Jesus Said, "And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one jot or tittle of the law to fail" (Luke 16:17).

Interestingly, although Jesus said, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law" (Mat 5:17), that is what many have concluded. It seems as though the authority of certain religious institutions through the years have taken their own interpretations and authority to auspicious levels of idiocy that indeed have had a catastrophic effect of the spirituality of the world's inhabitants. Honestly, the fear that I hold in my own heart for those who are unprepared for what lies ahead in the near future, is one of the greatest fears I have ever known. Prepare yourself now personally for your own spiritual awareness of what God says, not what man says.

When He also said, "I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled." (vs.17-18)

Giving credit where it is due, here is something well worth evaluating about the Commandments that Jesus/Yeshua did tell us. The site where this information is located and its credit is due to:

Commandment 1 "You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve" (Mat 4:10). "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and the great commandment" (Mat 22:37). "And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment" (Mk 12:30). "You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve" (Luke 4:8).

Commandment 2 "You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve" (Mat 4:10). "You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve" (Luke 4:8). "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth" (John 4:24). "But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam...to eat things sacrificed to idols" (Rev 2:14). "Nevertheless, I have a few things against you, because you allow...My servants to...eat things sacrificed to idols" (Rev 2:20).

Commandment 3 "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men" (Mat 12:31). "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts,...blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man" (Mat 15:19-20).

Commandment 4 "What man is there among you who has one sheep, and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath" (Mat 12:11-12). "And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath" (Mat 24:20); there would be no reason to pray this if the Sabbath was not going to be in existence. "And He said to them, 'The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath'" (Mk 2:27); this verse tells all who will see which day is the Lord's Day. "And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue" (Mk 6:2). "And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read" (Luke 4:16). "Then He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths" (Luke 4:31). "The Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath...Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy?" (Luke 6:5,9). "But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath...The Lord then answered him and said, 'Hypocrite...So ought not this woman...be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?'" (Luke (13:14-16). "'Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?'...And they could not answer Him regarding these things" (Luke 14:3,6). "are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?" (John 7:23).

Commandment 5 "For God commanded saying, 'Honor your father and your mother' and 'He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death'" (Mat 15:4). "Honor your father and your mother" (Mat 19:19). "Honor your father and your mother" (Mk 7:10). "Honor your father and your mother" (Mk 10:19). "You know the commandments:...Honor your father and your mother" (Luke 18:20).

Commandment 6 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder', and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment. But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment" (Mat 5:21-22). "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders...These are the things which defile a man" (Mat 15:19-20). "You shall not murder" (Mat 19:18). "...murders...All these evil things come from within and defile a man" (Mk 7:21,23). "Do not murder" (Mk 10:19). "You know the commandments:...Do not murder" (Luke 18:20).

Commandment 7 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery'. But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Mat 5:27-28). "But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery" (Mat 5:32). "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts...adulteries, fornications...These are the things which defile a man" (Mat 15:19-20). "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery, and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery" (Mat 19:9). "You shall not commit adultery" (Mat 19:18). "...adulteries, fornications...All these evil things come from within and defile a man" (Mk 7:21,23). "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery" (Mk 10:11-12). "Do not commit adultery" (Mk 10:19). "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced from her husband commits adultery" (Luke 16:18). "You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery" (Luke 18:20). "'Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery'...And Jesus said to her...'sin no more'" (John 8:4,11). "Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation" (Rev 2:22).

Commandment 8 "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts...thefts...These are the things which defile a man" (Mat 15:19-20). "You shall not steal" (Mat 19:18). "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer', but you have made it a den of thieves" (Mat 21:13). "...thefts...All these evil things come from within and defile a man" (Mk 7:22-23). "Do not steal" (Mk 10:19). "You know the commandments:... Do not steal" (Luke 18:20).

Commandment 9 "Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord. But I say to you, do not swear at all" (Mat 5:33-34). "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts...false witness...These are the things which defile a man" (Mat 15:19-20). "You shall not bear false witness" (Mat 19:18). "Do not bear false witness" (Mk 10:19). "You know the commandments:...Do not bear false witness" (Luke 18:20). "And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars" (Rev 2:2).

Commandment 10 "Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on" (Mat 6:25). "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts...These are the things which defile a man" (Mat 15:19-20). "...covetousness...All these evil things come from within and defile a man" (Mk 7:22-23).

"I have kept My Father's commandments" (John 15:10).

So it is clear that Jesus taught everyone of the ten commandments and that he also kept them." End of portion from other site.

With all of this said, it is apparent to me, that we were never to disregard the 10 commandments, on the other hand, we were to live more easily by them with Jesus in our hearts and Faith, growing within us on a daily basis as we learn to be more like Jesus and less like our worldly selves, is ultimately the key. I honestly fear that through man's intervention and alteration of the interpretation of scripture that many have failed to recognize the Sabbath Day for what it is. It is my prayer today as I write this, that many will research this information and be lead to do what God wants and calls us all to do in His very laws for us. I also fervently ask for guidance for each of us as we live our daily lives, learn about the realities that exist in history and what those realities mean for us today in our own existences. May God Bless each of you, and may you celebrate each Sabbath with reverence and with a mindset that relaxation each week commanded by God, ordained even by the very blood shed for all of our sins.

Look, don't take my word for it.....I am but a mere human who is fallible, no matter how great my Faith. I trust what God says in the word. We should all read the word, grow and study in the word....for ourselves and not take man's interpretation for it as they see it, but take what God's reveals to us from it. God will show you, if you only ask Him to show you.

Go with God, and have a glorious Sabbath Day in our Glorious Lord.
